Biohm: Sustainable, Eco-friendly construction Materials derived from Mycelium

Biohm is a pioneering UK based company that specializes in the development and production of sustainable, eco-friendly construction materials derived from mycelium. Founded by Ehab Sayed in 2016, Biohm envisions a future where the built environment is harmoniously linked with nature, using materials that are not only inspired by it but are also recyclable and contribute positively to our ecosystem.

The company offers a range of innovative materials and methods that promote circular economy and reduce construction waste.

Biohm's two flagship products are the ORB, a sustainable insulation material and mycelium panels, composed of mycelium-infused substrate, which is later driedand compressed to form strong, lightweight, and eco-friendly building panels.

Some of the identified benefits range from high durability and strength comparable to conventional materials, resistance to mold, moisture, and pest infiltration, improved indoor air quality due to their natural properties and of course being fully biodegradable and recyclable at the end of their life cycle.

They're also developing advanced construction methods, such as the nature inspired "Triagomy Construction System" and 3D Printing with Mycelium Materials, which can reduce construction time and costs, enhance structural stability, minimize waste generation through efficient design and provide the modularity and flexibility needed for easy assembly and disassembly.

Their depth of knowledge has enabled them to start advising global construction companies on sustainable material production to tackle the ever-present issues in the conventional building industry.
